Giving Back

Giving back is super important to me.  I have been volunteering and supporting charities since I was a young teenager.

Last year I had the great fortune of joining a group of Empowerment Leaders and Transformational Coaches in Liberia, Africa.  We presented and shared our messages with 600 teachers from all over Liberia at the Leadership and Prosperity Mindset Training event. Plus we raised money to finish building the Becky School, provided workshops to students of Youth Action International and delivered clean water systems to rural Liberian villages (which will provide clean water to thousands of people).

It was a humbling experience to join this amazing group of leaders lead by Spryte Loriano Global and supported by No Regrets Productions, Life List Africa and Youth Action International.

Below is an interview of the time I spent there, my personal insights and my profound experience. I laugh out loud and I’m moved to tears. This experience changed my life, I hope you’re inspired to give back to the world in your own way.

A few years ago, I raised over $56,000.00 for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation Prairies –NWT! This is a cause near and dear to my heart and I had the unique opportunity to ride with and get to know Lance Armstrong.

Despite all the press and whatever your impression is of him, I can tell you he has had a huge impact on raising funds for cancer research.  And for that, I’m grateful. Research is what saved both my mom and step-mom’s lives.

Below is the whole story of why I raised the money and how I became the top fundraiser of the event. The money all of us raised will save thousands of lives in the future.

As a business owner, I have been on the Board of Directors for The Membership Committee of the St. Albert Chamber of Commerce and I have had the honor of being on the Medical Advisory Board for World Health. I was on the Board of Directors for the McKay Manor Condominium Corporation from 2006 to 2014 and held the position of President from 2009 – 2014.

Last but not least, I support Kiva which is an awesome organization that provides life changing loans for as little as $25.00 to entrepreneurs in third world countries. The loans empower business owners to help create opportunities for themselves, their families and communities and to help alleviate poverty throughout the world. Very cool.
