I was having a conversation with a friend the other day and we got talking about presence and what it feels like when the person you’re with is truly present. It’s also an incredible feeling to be fully present for others and it can help you feel more fulfilled and successful in all areas of your life!
I’ve been aware of being present for a long time…and I’ll admit it takes practice. However, the rewards are well worth the practice. In our busy world with so much going on around us, it’s easy to be distracted and taken off course. Not only in our dreams and desires but in our relationships as well.
Have you ever been compelled to say “yes” when you really mean to say “no”? Or you say “yes” and then don’t really want to spend the time and energy to follow through?
Sometimes it’s easy to get caught up in saying “yes” to everything and everyone which can lead to stress and burn out.
I’ve certainly been in this position at times in my life. I still have to watch what I commit to and why I’m choosing to commit. While there are many worth while causes, projects, activities and fun things to do, they’re not always in line with what you really want in you life.
Your time is precious and it’s important to know in advance what you most want to be doing with your time. Knowing this in advance can make it easier for you to confidently say “yes” and feel great about it or graciously decline and say “no” when it’s not the right fit or time in your life.
We’ve all had times in our life where we haven’t felt like we’re enough. We’re not smart enough, pretty enough, successful enough, tough enough, vulnerable enough…you get the picture. It’s human.
The thing is, YOU MATTER. Plain and simple. It’s just believing it.
We’re often our own worst enemies because we let our minds run out of control telling us and showing us all the ways we fail to live up to our own expectations. We convince ourselves that what we want in life, or what we have to say doesn’t matter as much as what others do or say.
That is total crap! We all have something to contribute to the world and someone needs to hear about your ideas, insights or experiences. When we know we matter, we know we can help others. That’s what creates fulfillment and meaning in our lives.
This video will show you 5 ways you matter. I think it’s one of the most important videos I’ve ever done. Read More
